Title: [Assumptions about the future number of asylum seekers]. Author: De Beer J. Journal: Maandstat Bevolking; 1999 Feb; 47(2):8-14. PubMed ID: 12322054. Abstract: "Projections of the future number of asylum seekers [in the Netherlands] are very uncertain. This article examines how the number of asylum seekers can be projected. A distinction is made between projections for the short and for the long term.... This article introduces a model based on the assumption that there are two types of policy reaction to changes in the number of asylum seekers. On the one hand, if the number of asylum seekers is increasing policies tend to become more strict in order to reduce the number of new asylum seekers. On the other hand the capacity to house asylum seekers is expanded." (EXCERPT)[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
