    Abstract:
    The ICPD+5 Youth Forum held in The Hague in February 1999 was attended by 132 youth members, the majority of whom were under 25 years old, from 111 countries worldwide. The forum served as a mechanism for the youth to integrate their views concerning population and development issues into the UN review process. During the UN PrepCom for ICPD+5 in New York from March 24 to April 1, 1999, some of the forum's participants formed the Youth Coalition on ICPD+5, with the aim of strengthening the language of the Secretary General's Report. Although the PrepCom failed to evaluate progress in the implementation of the ICPD, the Youth Coalition continues their advocacy efforts and push for strong and progressive language on youth issues.
