  • Title: Resection of metaphyseal and epiphyseal neoplasms: the use of the patella for osteo-articular reconstruction.
Journal: Ital J Orthop Traumatol; 1975 Apr; 1(1):23-37. PubMed ID: 1233347.
    Abstract:
The patella can be a useful autogenous transplant for joint reconstruction after resection of epiphyseal and metaphyseal neoplasms. The cartilaginous surface can be used to replace an articular surface destroyed by tumour or removed by resection. Six cases are presented and illustrated, in which this procedure enabled useful joint function to be preserved.
