Journal: Hig Zdraveopaz; 1973; 16(6):531-6. PubMed ID: 12334523. Abstract: The trend in desired abortions and abortions performed, both legal and illegal, is described for Bulgaria from 1963 to 1973. It has been observed that the rise in the use of hormonal contraception and in the organization of family planning has had little effect in curbing the level of abortion. The tasks of health services in promulgating and dispensing hormonal contraceptives is examined closely with the responsibility of these establishments to the task of family planning in mind. The goals of these establishments are outlined: positive results in reducing the level of both legal and criminal abortion, reducing the level of maternal fatality, and increasing the number of sterilized families.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
