Title: [El Salvador: marital fertility (author's transl)]. Author: Klijzing FK, Ebanks GE. Journal: Notas Poblacion; 1978 Aug; 6(17):19-31. PubMed ID: 12336393. Abstract: This summary article presents the main findings of an original study by the same authors on fertility differentials in El Salvador. Data used was taken from the national fertility survey held in 1973. The final size of the family seems to be directly dependent on age at marriage, rural or urban residence, and, especially, on educational level of women. 69.8% of interviewed women had never used a contraceptive method; only 21% of the remaining women were still using contraception at the moment of the survey; parity for such women was notably inferior to that of the other groups, and their educational level was higher than that of exusers or of nonusers.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
