  • Title: [Prolactin and contraception].
    Author: Kann G.
Journal: Contracept Fertil Sex (Paris); 1980 Nov; 8(11):865. PubMed ID: 12336590.
    Abstract:
The correlation between hyperprolactinemia and anovulation is well known; indeed, reestablishment of ovarian activity is usually obtained by decreasing prolactin hypersecretion, and by regulating the functions of the hypothalamo-hypophysary-ovarian axis. The study of the mechanisms by which ovulation is impaired because of hyperprolactinemia will perhaps allow new insights into a different and improved method of hormonal contraception.
