    Abstract:
    The use of population and housing censuses as sources of data on demographic trends in Latin America is examined. The advantages and limitations of various census methodologies are outlined, and problems of data collection are discussed, with particular reference to labor force statistics. The establishment of a register of housing units, households, and persons is suggested as a means of improving the utilization of census data. (summary in ENG)
