    Abstract:
The effect of 4 contraceptive tablets (Infecundin, Bisecurin, Ovidon, Rigevidon) on the LH, FSH, estradiol, and progesterone blood levels has been examined by the authors in 87 healthy women of childbearing age. The hormone determinations have been carried out according to RIA method. 39 healthy women taking no oral contraceptives served as controls. In the 1st contraceptive cycles (40 women), hormone values pointing to ovulation have been found. In the majority of such ovulation cases, low luteal progesterone values have been measured. The hormone values have been summed up and evaluated according to the days of the tablet cycle. The hormone levels of the women taking the tablets longer than 2 years decreased in all cases, and the cyclic changes of the level ceased. The practical conclusions drawn from the examination results and the possibilities of the clinical examinations of the contraceptives are analyzed by the authors. (author's)
