  • Title: Statistical analysis of the immigration flow in Greece.
    Author: Tsoupakis E, Tziafetas G.
Journal: Europ Demogr Inf Bull; 1983; 14(2):57-70. PubMed ID: 12339259.
    Abstract:
Recent official Greek data show that from 1974 onward, Greece has become a country of net immigration, instead of a country of net emigration as had previously been the case. An analysis of the data on immigration to Greece is presented, and the characteristics of migrants are considered, including their sex and age distribution and economic activity. Two factors are identified as having a positive influence on the flow of immigrants to Greece, namely, the index of hourly income in Greece and the index of unemployment in the Federal Republic of Germany.
