  • Title: Effect of the protein-synthesis inhibitor actinomycin-D on the renin-angiotensin system in the rat.
    Author: Sonkodi S, Rácz O, Bókay P.
Journal: Acta Physiol Acad Sci Hung; 1975; 46(2):107-10. PubMed ID: 1235227.
    Abstract:
The effect of actinomycin-D on blood pressure and the renin-angiotensin system has been studied in the rat. Treatment with the drug caused blood pressure, plasma renin activity and plasma renin substrate level to decrease. The results suggest that in the blood pressure-decreasing effect a reduction of the activity of the renin-angiotensin system had a role. This contradicts the view that actinomycin-D has no influence on renin production in the kidney.
