Many interrelated factors must be considered when setting or changing the estimated dry weight (EDW). These factors include not only patient assessment (predialysis, intradialysis, and postdialysis), but also patient history, laboratory data, whether or not the patient is hospitalized, and social factors, particularly holidays.
