Title: Oral lichen sclerosus et atrophicus: a case report. Author: Jensen T, Worsaae N, Melgaard B. Journal: Oral Surg Oral Med Oral Pathol Oral Radiol Endod; 2002 Dec; 94(6):702-6. PubMed ID: 12464894. Abstract: Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) is a chronic inflammatory mucocutaneous disease usually affecting the female genitalia. Involvement of the oral mucosa is extremely rare but is sometimes the only manifestation of the disease. A review of the literature has disclosed only 10 histopathologically verified cases of oral LSA. We present another case with a solitary oral LSA lesion and summarize the current knowledge about this rare oral mucosal lesion.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
