Title: [Copper-T-Kabi and Gravigard. 1 year's experiences with 2 copper IUDs]. Author: Thorborg P. Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 1976 Feb 02; 138(6):342-3. PubMed ID: 1251508. Abstract: Experimentation with the copper IUDs Copper-T-200 (Copper-T-Kabi) and Copper-7-200 (Gravigard) is reported. 563 women ranging from 17 to 40 years old were implanted with IUDs, 281 with Copper-T-Kabi and 282 with Gravigard, for 10 months. After an average of 8 months of observation, 29.5% of the subjects using the Copper-T-Kabi had well-defined and unacceptable (e.g., conception, IUD rejection, hemorrhage, etc.) side effects. After 5 1/2 months of observation, 28.4% of the Gravigard users had such side effects. After the respective observation periods, 84.7% of the Copper-T-Kabi users and 80.9% of the Gravigard users continued usage of the IUD. Subjects using the Gravigard model were the most frequently subject to rejection of the device.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
