Abstract: The two trematode genera Gymnotergestia Nahhas and Cable, 1964 and Opechona Looss, 1907 were reviewed and discussed. Gymnotergestia chaetodipteri Nahhas and Cable, 1964 and Opechona sardinellae Nahhas and Cable, 1964 were redescribed from Serranus scriba and Labrus bergylata respectively from Libya.
