Title: Hemoglobin polymorphism in the encinal mouse, Peromyscus pectoralis. Author: Kilpatrick CW, Zimmerman EG. Journal: Biochem Genet; 1976 Feb; 14(1-2):137-43. PubMed ID: 1259700. Abstract: Horizontal starch gel electrophoresis revealed five hemoglobin phenotypes in natural populations of the encinal mouse, Peromyscus pectoralis, from northeastern Mexico. Populations of the encinal mouse from Texas, Oklahoma, and northwestern and north central Mexico were monomorphic for multiple-band phenotypes. Analysis of the hemoglobin polymorphism indicates that two loci control this variation.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
