Abstract: Postoperative portal vein thrombosis is a rare complication, which occurs most often after hepatic surgery, but has not yet been described in combination with laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We present a case where thrombotic occlusion of the portal vein was diagnosed on the 6th day following laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
