Author: Iuldasheva IA, Aliavi AI, Arinova MI.
Journal: Klin Med (Mosk); 2003; 81(2):39-41. PubMed ID: 12685233.
    Abstract:
The effects of nitric oxide on the development of pulmonary hypertension were studied in patients with bronchial asthma. The degree of pulmonary hypertension and the status of the left and right ventricles were determined by echocardiography. A significant increase in the nitric constituent was found in patients with moderate bronchial asthma, during is exacerbation in particular. The findings suggest that blood nitric oxide changes reflect adaptive cardiovascular alterations in asthmatics with pulmonary hypertension.
