Title: [The study on cytomegalovirus infection associated with vascular complications in patients with essential hypertension]. Author: Chen T, Kong Q, Cao H. Journal: Zhonghua Shi Yan He Lin Chuang Bing Du Xue Za Zhi; 1999 Mar; 13(1):23-6. PubMed ID: 12759946. Abstract: OBJECTIVE: This paper studied HCMV infection inpatients with essential hypertension and the relationship of HCMV infection with vascular complications. METHODS: Indirect ELISA method was used to detect human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) specific antibodies in sera of 105 patients with essential hypertension. RESULTS: The results showed that the positive rates of active HCMV-IgM and IgA antibodies were 26.67% and 20.95%, respectively, higher than that of the control group (6.67%). The positive rate of HCMV active IgM antibody in III stage group was significantly higher than that of I + II stage groups (P < 0.01). Active HCMV infective rate was higher in patients with vascular complication. CONCLUSION: These results suggested that HCMV active infection may be associated with vascular complication.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
