    Author: Rajyalakshmi I.
Journal: Bol Chil Parasitol; 1992; 47(1-2):25-9. PubMed ID: 1306989.
    Abstract:
A new species of the nematode genus Porrocaecum Railliet et Henry, 1912 obtained from the marine eel fish Muraenesox talabonoides (Bleeker) from Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) is described. The specimens do not agree with the description of known species of the genus Porrocaecum, hence a new species Porrocaecum muraenesoxi has been established to describe these nematodes. The new species is distinguished by body size, location of nerve ring, length of intestinal caecum, number and arrangement of caudal papillae, spicules length, and tail conical in both sexes. Rectal glands present.
