Title: [Total mercury levels in certain coastal fish]. Author: Nasfi FH. Journal: Arch Inst Pasteur Tunis; 1992; 69(3-4):327-36. PubMed ID: 1341141. Abstract: In this study, we decided to scan some common edible fish species and find out by atomic absorption spectrophotometry their total mercury content, in order to have an idea on their contamination degree and know whether they are edible or can be risky for consumers. The results of our investigations gave us the evidence that total mercury content of several fish species catched at different tunisian harbourgs is beyond the WHO recommended maximum level, and thus, consumption of such fish is harmless.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
