Abstract: There are a variety of dermatologic disorders that commonly present in the oral cavity. Among these is lichen planus which may affect the oral mucous membranes. Dentists need to be familiar with the clinical presentations of this disease. This article will review the common signs and symptoms of oral lichen planus, and will discuss the tools and criteria used to diagnose this disorder.
