  • Title: [Intestinal invagination in adults. Apropos of a case of idiopathic ileocolic invagination].
    Author: Beizig S.
Journal: J Chir (Paris); 1992 May; 129(5):266-8. PubMed ID: 1429927.
    Abstract:
Intestinal intussusception is a rare condition in adults, in whom it is caused by an organic lesion in 60% of all cases. On the basis of one case of ileocolic intussusception in a 64-year-old patient, the author reviews the literature and sums up the clinicopathological data, as well as the elements of the clinical diagnosis and, most importantly, of the radiological diagnosis for which enema with hydrosoluble contrast media is the method of choice. The treatment mainly consists in intestinal resection with anastomosis.
