Title: Polysomnographic sleep effects of fluoxetine and nefazodone on a seasonal affective disorder patient. Author: Shen J, Shapiro C. Journal: Sleep Med; 2002 Nov; 3(6):527-8. PubMed ID: 14592151. Abstract: This reported person met DSM-III-R criteria for seasonal affective disorder. In successive years she had two treatments with fluoxetine and one with nefazodone. Every year regular polysomnographic monitoring was carried out during the critical initial 8 weeks of treatment. The results indicate that on both occasions fluoxetine decreased the patient's sleep quality. Nefazodone had no sleep disturbing effects and on withdrawal no relapse has been seen for 3 years.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
