Title: [Studies on chemical constituents in roots of Polygala tenuifolia]. Author: Wang H, Tong YX, Ye WC, Zhao SX. Journal: Zhongguo Zhong Yao Za Zhi; 2003 Sep; 28(9):828-30. PubMed ID: 15015373. Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents from the roots of Polygala tenuifolia. METHOD: Column chromatographic techniques were employed for isolation and purification of chemical constituents of the plant and the structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. RESULT: Five chemical constituents were isolated and elucidated as 4-C-beta-glucopyranosyl-1,3,6-trihydroxy-7-methoxyxanthone (1), 4-C-[beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-1,3,6- trihydroxy-7-methoxyxanthone (2), presenegenin (3), presenegenin-3-O-beta-D-glycopyranoside (4) and daucosterol (5), respectively. CONCLUSION: Compounds 1,3,4 and 5 were isolated from this plant for the first time. Compound 1 is a new natural product.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
