  • Title: [Risk-adjusted prevention post-MI].
    Author: Völler H.
    Journal: Z Kardiol; 2004; 93 Suppl 1():I10-2. PubMed ID: 15022000.
    Abstract:
    A recent clinical registry with 96 participating hospitals specialized in cardiological rehabilitation provided data from 47,324 patients. Registry data showed a significant reduction of risk factors over time. The incidence of systolic hypertension, for example, was reduced from 44.6 to 16.9%. In addition, clinical rehabilitation raised awareness of AMI survivors for individual risk factors, thus providing the basis for a lifestyle change that allows an improved long-term outcome.
