Title: Acute myelofibrosis terminating in acute lymphoblastic leukemia: report of one case. Author: Chen JS, Lin DT, Chuu WM, Lin KH, Su IJ, Lin KS. Journal: Zhonghua Min Guo Xiao Er Ke Yi Xue Hui Za Zhi; 1992; 33(2):136-43. PubMed ID: 1514403. Abstract: A four-year-old boy suffered from acute myelofibrosis which became acute lymphoblastic leukemia during the course of the disease. Histologic and immunophenotypic studies revealed that the leukemic cells were lymphoblasts. Immunophenotypic examination also excluded the possibility of acute megakaryoblastic, monocytic and myeloid leukemia. Thus terminal leukemic transformation, in some cases of acute myelofibrosis, may be of a lymphoid nature.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
