Abstract: A newborn infant with patent omphalomesenteric duct (POMD), who presented faecal umbilical discharge, was treated with a semicircular periumbilical incision up to the abdominal cavity. The omphalomesenteric duct was followed up to the junction with the small intestine and there resected.
