Title: Eruptive xanthomas during pregnancy. Author: Jaber PW, Wilson BB, Johns DW, Cooper PH, Ferguson JE. Journal: J Am Acad Dermatol; 1992 Aug; 27(2 Pt 2):300-2. PubMed ID: 1517492. Abstract: A case of eruptive xanthomas during two successive pregnancies is reported. These xanthomas developed in association with marked hypertriglyceridemia; complications included severe pancreatitis and acute respiratory distress syndrome. This patient most likely had combined familial hyperlipidemia which usually causes only a modest elevation in plasma lipid levels.
