Title: Synthetic arterial grafts. III. The outcome in 22 patients with synthetic axillofemoral bypass grafts. Author: Christenson JT, Einarsson E, Eklöf B, Norgren L. Journal: Scand J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg; 1978; 12(2):121-4. PubMed ID: 152457. Abstract: During the 4-year period 1973--76, 22 patients were operated upon with axillofemoral bypass grafts at the Department of Surgery in Lund. They were high-risk patients with severe ischaemia of the leg or previous graft infections. Fourteen of the 22 grafts were well-functioning after the longest observation time of 32 months. The operative procedure is described and postoperative compliations are reviewed. The axillofemoral bypass reconstruction is recommended as an alternative for this category of patients in whom the conventional aortic bifurcation graft is unsuitable.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
