Abstract: Bedbug infestations are on the rise in the United States among people of all socioeconomic groups. Bedbug bites typically cause pruritic wheals with central punctum on exposed skin, which are noted upon awakening. The diagnosis is confirmed by identifying fecal smears and blood spots on the bed linens and mattress or by identifying the culprit bug.
