  • Title: Histopathology of thyroid carcinoma. A review of 500 cases.

    Abstract:
    A lot of 500 thyroid cancers were studied. The following histological aspects were found: folliculo-papillary carcinoma (60.6%), follicular carcinoma (20.6%), anaplastic carcinoma (15,4%), medullary carcinoma (3.2%), malignant lymphoma (0.2%). The sex distribution showed a strong predominance of women as compared to men, in a ratio of 3/1. The highest incidence appeared between 30 and 50 years of age. The histopathological and cytological features in fine needle biopsy are discussed.
