    Author: Conte M, Lombardi P, Linfant J.
    Journal: J N J Dent Assoc; 2002; 73(1-2):8-9. PubMed ID: 15658196.
    Abstract:
Fusion is a tooth anomaly considered to be the result of the union between two adjacent tooth buds. The incidence of fusion is less than 1 percent of the population. The following is a case report of a unique form of a supernumerary tooth fused to the distal surface of a mandibular third molar. Radiographic evaluation demonstrates the communication of the pupal tissues. A differential diagnosis of developmental anomalies is discussed.
