    Abstract:
    In the article the role of immunologic cells and hemostatic factors in the formation of atherosclerosis was described. Attention was paid to restenosis in patients undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), a phenomenon that occurs in 20-50% of these patients. Among many factors that contribute to restenosis more attention is paid lately to the role of chemokines. The physiology role of chemokines was described and the contribution of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 to restenosis after PTCA.
