Title: Myxoid chondrosarcoma of the maxilla in a pediatric patient. Author: Jörg S, August C, Stoll W, Alberty J. Journal: Eur Arch Otorhinolaryngol; 2006 Mar; 263(3):195-8. PubMed ID: 16007428. Abstract: Myxoid chondrosarcomas of the head and neck region are rare. We report the case of an 8-year-old boy with progressive unilateral nasal obstruction resulting from a highly differentiated myxoid chondrosarcoma of the maxilla extending to the nasal cavity and the ethmoid. Clinical presentation, histological findings and therapy are presented with a brief review of the literature. This case reaffirms the importance of considering sarcomas or other neoplastic lesions in the differential diagnosis of progressive nasal obstruction in children.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
