Abstract: The symptom of vulvar burning demands special evaluation and management. Possible factors include complications of therapy, inflammatory dermatoses, lichen sclerosus, and infection with organisms such as Candida, human papillomavirus, and herpes simplex virus. Vulvar vestibulitis and dysesthetic vulvodynia or pudendal neuralgia have characteristic patterns of discomfort.
