Title: Necrotising fasciitis following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. A case report. Author: Campion J, Allum R. Journal: Knee; 2006 Jan; 13(1):51-3. PubMed ID: 16099658. Abstract: Necrotising fasciitis is a rapidly progressive and life threatening soft tissue infection that primarily involves the superficial fascia. It can be a difficult condition to diagnose in its early stages and requires aggressive surgical and supportive management if devastating consequences are to be avoided. We describe a case of necrotising fasciitis following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using a hamstring graft. To our knowledge this has not been previously reported. Following radical debridement, reconstructive surgery and intensive physiotherapy our patient has made a satisfactory recovery.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
