    Abstract:
    OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents from the methanolic extract from the leaf of Liquidambar formosana Hance. METHOD: The compounds were separated with the column chromatographic and Prep HPLC, and their structures were identified by chemical and spectroscopic methods. RESULTS: Three compounds were isolated from the methanolic extract. They were identified as: beta-sitosterol (I), alpha-amyrin (II) and oleanonic acid (III). CONCLUSION: All of them were isolated from this plant for the first time.
