Title: [Investigational treatment of cancer using electrochemotherapy, electrochemoimmunotherapy and electro-gene transfer]. Author: Gehl J. Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 2005 Aug 22; 167(34):3156-9. PubMed ID: 16117912. Abstract: Electroporation is the use of short, high-voltage pulses to transiently permeabilize the cell membrane. This technique can be used to increase the cellular uptake of otherwise non-permeating molecules, e.g., cytotoxic agents (electrochemotherapy). The electrochemotherapy area can also be used as a tumorlysis product in connection with immunotherapy. New avenues are opening for the clinical use of electroporation in non-viral gene delivery.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
