    Abstract:
    BACKGROUND: The majority of children treated for a cancer will be long term survivors, with the potential to develop specific treatment related adverse health outcomes. OBJECTIVE: This article describes the late effects of treatments for childhood cancer, and makes recommendations about appropriate surveillance. DISCUSSION: With appropriate primary care input, long term morbidity and mortality for childhood cancer survivors can be reduced.
