Title: Correlates of daily caffeine consumption. Author: Hewlett P, Smith A. Journal: Appetite; 2006 Jan; 46(1):97-9. PubMed ID: 16298019. Abstract: A study of 376 young British adults showed that estimated daily caffeine consumption increased with age, and was associated with smoking and greater alcohol consumption. Non-consumers of caffeine avoided tea and coffee (even the de-caffeinated form).
