Title: Some aspects of adult mortality in developed countries. Author: Hansluwka H. Journal: Cah Sociol Demogr Med; 1992; 32(1):5-50. PubMed ID: 1638448. Abstract: The author reviews mortality trends for adults aged 15 to 65 years in developed countries over the past four decades. He discusses five major causes of death: suicide, accidents, cancer, AIDS, and cardiovascular diseases. A comparison of the path toward decreased adult mortality taken by the countries of Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union is made with that followed by the other developed nations. Consideration is given to the impact of advances in health care and to the consequences of major migratory flows from less-developed countries.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
