Title: [Calcium, magnesium, and potassium as dietary nutrients]. Author: Sasaki S. Journal: Clin Calcium; 2006 Jan; 16(1):110-5. PubMed ID: 16397360. Abstract: This review summarized recent epidemiologic studies on three minerals (calcium magnesium, and potassium) of which relation to osteoporosis and bone fracture has been suggested. A significant relation with bone mineral density (BMD) and bone fracture was generally found in low calcium intake populations such as Chinese. But few studies found a significant relation in Western populations. For magnesium and potassium, some studies found a significantly positive relation with BMD. But no study with bone fracture as outcome has yet existed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
