Title: [Evaluation of selected vitamins and minerals intake in pregnant women]. Author: Hamułka J, Wawrzyniak A. Journal: Rocz Panstw Zakl Hig; 2005; 56(3):245-51. PubMed ID: 16433230. Abstract: Evaluation of vitamins and minerals intake in pregnant women from Warsaw and Mazowsze Region was performed. The study was done in 2002-2003 with participation of 100 women, aged 10-40 years. The information about food intake was collected using 24-hour recall three times repeated. The study showed too low intake of vitamins of group B, especially folates (53% recommended value), vitamin B1 (70%), vitamin B2 (82%). Intake of fat-soluble vitamins A and E was too high, above recommendation. Daily diet of pregnant women contained too low level of iron, copper, zinc and calcium, and too high phosphorus, and incorrect calcium and phosphorus ratio (0.22).[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
