PubMed ID: 16538131. Abstract: PURPOSE: To report a case that suggests that factors associated with daily disposable contact lenses contribute to the risk of developing infectious keratitis. METHODS: A case of a culture-positive Pseudomonas corneal ulcer in a compliant daily disposable contact lens wearer is presented. RESULTS: The case involves a 35-year-old woman with a culture-positive Pseudomonas corneal ulcer that was treated successfully with topical antibiotics. The patient wore daily disposable contact lenses on a part-time basis and was fully compliant with the instructions for use. CONCLUSIONS: Compliance and wearing time were not causal in this episode of infectious keratitis, but factors related to the lens might have been.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
