  • Title: Cavitands with revolving doors regulate binding selectivities and rates in water.
Author: Hooley RJ, Van Anda HJ, Rebek J.
    Journal: J Am Chem Soc; 2006 Mar 29; 128(12):3894-5. PubMed ID: 16551081.
    Abstract:
A water-soluble self-folding cavitand has been prepared, featuring four benzoate groups attached to the open end. These benzoates act as rapidly "revolving doors" to the cavity. The cavitand shows increased selectivity for small hydrophobic guests and slower rates of guest exchange.
