Title: [Radiologic diagnosis of consequences from head trauma]. Author: Bryc S. Journal: Ann Univ Mariae Curie Sklodowska Med; 1990; 45():83-94. PubMed ID: 1670036. Abstract: In the light of the Lublin clinical center examinations and the literature data the author describes the roentgen-diagnostic methods used for recognition of the consequences of cranial injuries. The diagnostic effectiveness of different radiological techniques was compared. In cranial trauma without loss of consciousness no examination should be carried out. Skull films are of little use and may give a false safety, if no fracture is evident. Particular attention is paid to the importance of computed axial tomography in the diagnosis of various pathological conditions. It is revealed that a high agreement between the radiological results and the final clinical diagnosis in the patients with head injuries should be obtained only in the way based on a good cooperation between the radiologist and clinicians.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
