    Abstract:
    The article presents the material on treatment of 515 elderly patients with chronic calculous cholecystitis. According to the developed strategy of planned surgical treatment the patients were divided into five groups: (1) The operation is contraindicated due to high operative risk; (2) Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is possible; (3) Combined operation is possible; (4) Transition from laparoscopic to laparotomic access is indicated due to intraoperative problems; (5) By the data of preoperative examination only laparotomic access is possible.
