    Today's healthcare environment has required innovative, cost-effective ideas for hospitals to recruit and retain nurses in critical care. A critical care internship is a viable option to meet the challenges encountered in educating nurses in today's complex critical care environment. This article provides a description of a Critical Care Internship Program and a method of analysis for utilization of resources, clinical outcomes, and fiscal responsibility using a Staff Development Program Effectiveness Evaluation Tool.
