Title: Normal minipuberty of infancy in boys with Prader-Willi syndrome. Author: Fillion M, Deal CL, Van Vliet G. Journal: J Pediatr; 2006 Dec; 149(6):874-6. PubMed ID: 17137911. Abstract: In 4 boys with Prader-Willi syndrome, 3 of whom had cryptorchidism, penile length and plasma testosterone levels at 5 to 10 weeks of life were normal. We suggest that cryptorchidism reflects decreased abdominal pressure rather than hypogonadism, which develops later from progressive degeneration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone neurons.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
