  • Title: [Immunity in those engaged in the manufacture of building materials under arctic conditions].
    Author: Romanova IuV, Buganov AA.
Journal: Gig Sanit; 2006; (6):31-3. PubMed ID: 17190053.
    Abstract:
The investigation has demonstrated that the factors associated with the manufacture of building materials cause changes in workers' cellular, humoral, and nonspecific immunity. The found changes may be one the reasons for increasing the incidence of diseases in the workers. The more length of service and the longer period of residence in the Far North result to increased immune heterogenicity and depleted reserves of the immune system. Therefore, a combined influence of extreme climatic and geographical factors and a complex of permanent unfavorable industrial factors can substantially affect the immunity and health of an organism as a whole.
